OWNER/PRACTICE ADMINISTRATOR

Tamara was born and raised in East Dallas and is the co-owner, and practice administrator, at Whitley Family Dental. She is a dynamic executive that balances strategic thought leadership with tactical execution to design and implement dental office solutions.

Tamara attended DISD public schools and graduated with highest honors from Skyline High School in 1985. After high school, Tamara obtained her Bachelor of Science in psychology and graduated cum laude in 1988 from Texas A&M University.

Tamara brings 30 years of proven business experience to her role from such notable companies as Medco Health Solutions, Cigna, CVS, and ADP. This business experience includes building relationships, disaster recovery protocols, HIPAA /OSHA compliance, insurance/benefits administration, account management, implementations, talent development, process reengineering, operations support, metrics development, and preventive measure implementation.

Tamara is a lifetime member of the American Association of Dental Office Management and was recently inducted as a Diplomate, which is the highest level of achievement within AADOM. At the national AADOM conference, she was named as a Practice Administrator of Distinction, as well as accepted the Dentrix Practice of the Year Award on behalf of Whitley Family Dental.

Tamara holds a Black Belt in Six Sigma Process Methodology, and certifications with the OSAP-DALE Foundation Dental Infection Prevention & Control and the American Heart Association CPR basic life support.

Tamara lives in East Dallas with her husband of 34 years, Dr. Bill. Their son Nick graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in political science from Texas A&M University. After an internship with Michigan State Athletic Communications, Nick accepted a permanent job with Penn State Athletic Communications and serves as the Sports Information Director for Women's Soccer, Softball, and secondary on Women's Basketball. The Whitleys attend First Baptist Church in Dallas and enjoy traveling, reading, and cooking.
