OFFICE MANAGER EMERITUS

LaJoyce was born and raised in the East Texas community of Alba-Golden. When she was 12 years old, she moved to Dallas, where she attended Dallas schools, and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. She has made East Dallas her home for 77 years. LaJoyce was employed by the Dallas Independent School District for 29 years.

Her career with DISD began as secretary to the principal at J.L. Long Middle School in East Dallas. Later, she transferred to Bryan Adams High School as the office manager and worked there until she was selected as the office manager for one of the area superintendents.

After retirement, she worked part-time auditing activity funds for all the elementary schools in DISD. In 2009, LaJoyce brought her significant office experience to Whitley Family Dental to serve as the office manager and managed all aspects of the front office.

At the age of 85 when a world-wide pandemic came, LaJoyce made the decision to officially retire from Whitley Family Dental making her new title: Office Manager Emeritus! We are happy to say that she returns to the office often to answer phones and greet patients when members of the business team are out of the office.

LaJoyce shares time between her home in East Dallas and her farm in Golden. Her hobbies include spoiling her five grandchildren and one great-grandchild, reading, quilting, gardening, traveling, and enjoying family and friends.
