Katie Agosto

Registered Dental Hygienist

Katie was born and raised in Garland, Texas, and has lived domestically in Utah, Florida and internationally in Japan. In 2007, Katie decided it was time to come back to her roots in Texas and settled in Wylie.

Katie knew from an early age that she wanted to be a dental hygienist. A dental hygiene career combines educating patients regarding their oral health, while building long-standing relationships. Katie’s passion is building relationships, so being a dental hygienist was the perfect career choice.

Katie obtained her Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene from Concorde Career College where she was the president of her class and was awarded the prestigious Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award.  Katie has her license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the State of Texas and is currently certified by the American Heart Association in CPR basic life support with automated external defibrillator. Katie is also certified by the State of Texas to monitor the administration of nitrous oxide consious sedation.

Katie pursues continuing education in order to maintain her knowledge and skill in all facets of dentistry. 

In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time boating and traveling with her husband and daughter.


Kelly Donavan

Registered Dental Hygienist

Kelly was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska and moved to Texas in 2010 for warmer weather

Kelly’s passion is getting to know her patients on a more personal level while educating her patients regarding their oral health needs.

Kelly graduated with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene, as well as, an Associates Degree in Science from El Centro Community College. Nine years prior to obtaining her dental hygiene degree, Kelly was a registered dental assistant trained in four-handed instrument transfer, X-rays, and the use of all dental office instruments. Kelly also assisted with all Front Office tasks such as: answering phones, scheduling appointments, making patient doctor referrals, and checking out patients. 

Kelly has her license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the State of Texas and is currently certified by the American Heart Association in CPR basic life support with automated external defibrillator. Kelly is also certified by the State of Texas to monitor the administration of nitrous oxide conscious sedation. Kelly pursues and values continuing education as evidenced by her pursuit of her Bachelors of Science degree in Dental Hygiene while working full-time. Kelly is a member of the Texas Oral Health Coalition and the American Dental Hygienists Association and serves as our office OSHA Compliance Officer.

Kelly is an adopted Texan that enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.


Adrienne Lopez

Registered Dental Assistant

Adrienne was born into an army family in Killeen. She grew up in San Antonio, moved to the Dallas area, and attended the University of North Texas. She and her family have made North Texas their home for more than 20 years.

Adrienne graduated from the Collin County Dental Assisting Program and thereafter obtained her Texas Registered Dental Assistant license. Adrienne has been trained in four-handed instrument transfer, X-rays, and the use of materials and instruments used in endodontics, restorative, crown and bridge, and surgery. 

Adrienne is currently certified by the American Heart Association in CPR basic life support with automated external defibrillator. Adrienne is also certified by the State of Texas to monitor the administration of nitrous oxide conscious sedation.

Adrienne lives in East Dallas, and in her spare time, enjoys reading, photography, and knitting.


LaJoyce Cannon

Office Manager

LaJoyce was born and raised in the East Texas community of Alba-Golden. When she was 12 years old, she moved to Dallas, attended Dallas schools, and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. She has made East Dallas her home for 71 years.

LaJoyce was employed by the Dallas Independent School District for 29 years. Her career with DISD began as secretary to the principal at J.L. Long Middle School in East Dallas. Later, she transferred to Bryan Adams High School as the office manager and worked there until she was selected as the office manager for one of the area superintendents. After retirement, she worked part-time auditing activity funds for all the elementary schools in DISD.

In 2009, LaJoyce brought her significant office experience to Whitley Family Dental to serve as the Office Manager managing all aspects of the Front Office.

LaJoyce shares time between her home in East Dallas and her farm in Golden. Her hobbies include spoiling her five grandchildren and one great-grandchild, reading, quilting, gardening, traveling, and enjoying family and friends.


Cindi Cox

Patient & Accounting Manager

Cindi was born and raised in Dallas, and serves as our Patient & Accounting Manager maintaining our online patient portal, generating paychecks, submitting tax payments, updating our practice management and accounting software, enhancing our social media prescence through Facebook, Instagram, and Healthgrades, as well as, supporting our office manager in running the front office. 

Cindi is a proud graduate of Skyline High School in East Dallas and attended Lone Star College-Montgomery Campus. She has obtained her certifications in accounting and human resources. Cindi has more than 20 years of experience in office and accounting management, most notably at ADP, White Rock/Katy Trail Weekly, and Total Compression Systems.

Cindi is currently certified by the American Heart Association in CPR basic life support with automated external defibrillator and serves as our HIPAA Compliance Officer.

Cindi lives in East Dallas, and in her spare time, enjoys traveling, playing golf, and spending time with her grandson.


William Whitley

Office Intern

William Whitley was born and raised in Dallas and has served as our summer/winter break intern since 2012. William assists our front office staff by answering phones, scheduling appointments, confirming patients, and processing claims/patient payments.

William attended First Baptist Academy in downtown Dallas through seventh grade, then transferred to Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano in 2014. William is a senior at PCA, is a 4.0 student, is the Drum Major for PCA P.R.I.D.E. Lion Marching Band, and is a member of the Mock Trial and Future Problem Solvers teams.

William lives in East Dallas. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, watching TV, playing his clarinet, and spending time with his family and friends.


Tamara Whitley

Owner/Office Director

Tamara was born and raised in East Dallas and is the co-owner of Whitley Family Dental. Tamara is a dynamic executive that balances strategic thought leadership with tactical execution to design and implement dental office solutions. 

Tamara attended DISD public schools and graduated with highest honors from Skyline High School in 1985. After high school, Tamara obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and graduated Cum Laude in 1988 from Texas A&M University.

Tamara brings almost 30 years of proven business experience from such notable companies as Medco Health Solutions, Cigna, CVS, and ADP to her role of Office Director at Whitley Family Dental. This business experience includes: Building Relationships, HIPAA Compliance, Insurance Administration, Account Management, Client Implementations, Talent Development, Process Reengineering, Operations Support, Metrics Development, and Preventative Measure Implementation.

Tamara is currently certified by the American Heart Association in CPR basic life support with automated external defibrillator. Tamara also holds her Black Belt in Six Sigma Process Improvement methodology.

Tamara lives in East Dallas with her husband of 29 years, Dr. Bill, and their son, William. The Whitley's attend First Baptist Church in Dallas and enjoy traveling, reading, and cooking.
