‘Tis the season to get into the holiday spirit and that is exactly what we at Whitley Family Dental are busy doing. We are all excited to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ...Emmanuel which means God with us. Our holiday tradition is watching the movie White Christmas on Christmas Eve while eating pizza from our favorite pizza place, Pizza Getti in Dallas. So yummy! As parents, the first Christmas after our son was born gave us a whole new appreciation of Christmas. We knew that Christmas would never be the same as we would begin seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child. It’s truly a magical time of year!
"O Holy Night" and "Mary Did You Know" are our favorite songs for the season, but we also love songs from our favorite movies, "Count Your Blessings" from White Christmas and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" from the movie with the same name.
We NEVER decorate for Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving so we can fully enjoy Thanksgiving before turning our attention to Christmas. Our favorite ornament/figurine is Hermey the Dentist - formerly known as Hermey, the Toy Making Elf in Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Did you know the ADA (American Dental Association) gave Hermey a DDG degree on the 50th Anniversary of the movie in 2014? A DDG degree stands for DENTAL DO GOODER!
For ringing in the new year, our family tradition is to be at home, safely off the roads, watching the ball drop in New York City on television. We can’t wait for the New Year!
